Easter with the Allum’s

We hope you are having a lovely Easter with your families AND a special Happy Easter to those who work in services which still have to operate on bank holidays such as the emergency services.

The Easter holidays are here and we are excited to spend lots of time together as a family. We have lots planned this Easter holidays… my birthday, a 3 day trip to London, days out, meals out and hopefully some downtime playing games and relaxing at home.

We love Easter, it always starts off with a visit to the church with one of the girls schools to listen to an Easter service and join in some singing (I really cannot sing… I mostly whisper/mime). We feel this is really important to think about the real meaning of Easter. We are not an overly religious family but it is important to remember why we stuff our faces with chocolate on Easter Sunday.

We spent Easter Friday with family, we went for a walk on Cromer beach and had a delicious meal at The Banningham Crown pub. A pub with lots of character and a relaxed feel, we are so used to quick in and out meals it was nice to be able to sit and not have to rush! They offer really lovely home cooked food, A & K’s meals were large. It isn’t cheap pub grub but well priced, all meats and eggs etc are sourced locally. They have a board stating where their produce is from. The portions were generous and we enjoyed some lovely brown bread and butter with our meal too. http://www.banninghamcrown.co.uk/

We bought these local daffodils 3 bunches for a £1 at the pub too, they are beautiful.

A & K recently entered a colouring competition with Pure Estate agents in Norwich. A won 1st prize and K won a runners-up prize. They were delighted with their Easter eggs. Check out the massive Lindt egg, I am very jealous and hope A will share… even just a little bunny! Thank you  – http://www.pureestateagency.co.uk/

Both girls enjoyed an Easter fun day with Brownies and Rainbows yesterday they came home with loads of crafts and baking they had done. I used to love Rainbows and Brownies when I was a child, so many opportunities for fun and games.

Today we are planning on eating chocolate, painting some eggs & watching some Easter films. Daddy is working this afternoon so when he returns we are heading for dinner at ‘Nana’s’.
